Wayne Hancock is an American singer-songwriter known for his unique blend of honky-tonk, western swing, rockabilly, and traditional country music. Born in 1965 in Dallas, Texas, Hancock's sound is deeply rooted in the classic styles of Hank Williams, Jimmie Rodgers, and Bob Wills. Often called "The King of Juke Joint Swing," he gained attention with his 1995 debut album Thunderstorms and Neon Signs, produced by Lloyd Maines. His music features raw, energetic performances with no drums, relying on upright bass, guitars, and steel guitar to drive the rhythm. Hancock's storytelling lyrics and road-hardened authenticity have earned him a devoted following in the alt-country and roots music scenes. Over the years, he has continued to release critically acclaimed albums, staying true to his vintage sound while keeping traditional American music alive.
IV and The Strange Band is an alternative country and punk-influenced band led by Coleman Williams, the great-grandson of Hank Williams and the son of Hank Williams III. Formed in the late 2010s, the band blends outlaw country, folk, and punk rock, creating a raw, rebellious sound that honors their family’s legacy while pushing genre boundaries. Their debut album, Southern Circus (2022), showcases dark storytelling, heavy instrumentation, and an outsider spirit. With Coleman’s gritty vocals and an uncompromising musical approach, IV and The Strange Band has carved out a niche in the alt-country and underground music scenes, appealing to fans of both classic country and punk rebellion.
