The Gaslight Tinkers blend the vibrant rhythms of Africa, the Caribbean, Funk, Reggae, and Latin music with the soul of traditional fiddle, creating a genre-defying fusion that reimagines the sounds of the past. Their innovative mix of global grooves and classic New England old-time and Celtic fiddle music forms a joyously danceable, high-energy sound, brimming with melody and spirit.

Since their formation in 2012, the band has ignited stages from the East Coast to the West Coast and the Caribbean, headlining major festivals, clubs, and dances. Described by The Valley Advocate as “music that consistently fizzes and pops with unexpected textures and turns,” The Gaslight Tinkers' live performances are a whirlwind of delightful surprises, euphoric crowds, and infectious musicianship. Whether on stage or in the studio, the chemistry between I-shea, Clara, Elie, Garrett, and Peter is a magnetic force that captivates audiences everywhere.

Brothers Sammy Divinda, Israel Mbombo, and Gershom Mbombo craft a vibrant fusion of traditional African music—drawing from the rich sounds of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and East Africa—with acoustic instrumentation and heartfelt, message-driven songwriting. Having made music together since childhood, the trio shares a deep-rooted passion for spreading peace and joy through their art. Now recent refugees and proud new Vermonters, they continue their musical journey, bridging cultures and uplifting communities with every performance.
