THE ATOM AGE
----
Run hot enough, a vacuum tube implodes, collapsing in on itself in the shithot blast of a rock and roll suicide. Once the heat kicks in, there’s no other outcome but thermal shock and shattered glass.
Since 2009, Oakland’s The Atom Age have been scattering slivers of imploded tubes all across the Bay Area. A rocket propelled ode to the unhinged power of ‘60s punk and R&B, the Age are more Sonics than Hives, and more Link Wray than Jack White. Coming to life out of the Bay’s punk scene, they’re a powder keg of a live band.
LOVE EQUALS DEATH
----
Love Equals Death is a California Punk band that was born on Halloween 2003. The band has played numerous shows all over the US, Canada, and Europe with bands like Pennywise, Tiger Army, Mad Caddies, Suicide Machines, AFI, NOFX, The Distillers as well as headlining tours across the US and Europe and some Warped Tour appearances. The band came to a halt in 2009 and in 2010 it was confirmed that the band would go on hiatus. Nine years later, in the band's original birthplace, Ukiah, CA, the hometown of frontman Chon Travis, the band was resurrected to a sold out hometown crowd on Halloween night 2019. The band has releases on Popsmear records, SBAM records, SAY-10 records, Fat Wreck Chords, and a number of compilation cds. Although the band has a new line-up, Chon Travis still delivers his brand of punk rock gospel. Sounds like Billy Idol meets old AFI.
