It pleases us so much to showcase this one-of-a-kind, only in New Orleans musician, Mr. Kirk Joseph, as we begin a regular residency with him at Chickie Wah Wah on Saturday night, April the 13th at 11pm  Come on down after French Quarter Festival!  If you have not witnessed Kirk’s absolute mastery of the sousaphone, you don’t know what the instrument can do.  A founding member of the Grammy winning Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Kirk has taken the sousaphone to a completely different level than anyone before or since.  He’s simply one of our favorite musicians in the world.

Kirk’s time in Anders Osborne’s band – alongside the brilliant saxophonist Tim Green – was one of the highlights of modern New Orleans music in our humble opinion.  He can funk it up like nobody else; whether it is trad or just plain bad.

For the first performance he will do as a bandleader at Chickie Wah Wah in 2024, Kirk is going to present a Master Class in Brass.  Here’s the bill, and it is serious. So don’t miss out:
