Newhalem (“new-HAY-lum”) is the indie rock project of Seattle-based musician Robbie Lang, known for blending lush, atmospheric soundscapes with introspective songwriting. Influenced by Pacific Northwest legends like Pedro the Lion, Damien Jurado, Deep Sea Diver, Death Cab for Cutie, and Elliott Smith, Newhalem balances emotional depth with careful attention to texture, melody, and tone. Newhalem released an EP in March 2024, followed by a series of singles, with a full-length debut album set to arrive in 2025.
