The young prodigy Jude Kofie will perform his debut show at Dazzle Denver in celebration of the release of his first album with Octave Records. This highly anticipated project showcases the maturity and sophistication of the 14-year-old musician, highlighting his ability to effortlessly weave together the lineages of jazz, gospel, soul, and pop music. For one night only, the Denver metro area is invited to be part of this defining moment as Jude introduces himself to the world of recorded music.

Jude’s journey began like that of many children, with a curiosity sparked by sound. But unlike most, he didn’t need sheet music or lessons. At age 10, he discovered a small keyboard in his family’s basement and began playing intricate melodies he had only heard once, entirely by ear. He could instantly reproduce harmonies from TV shows, church songs, and jazz standards.

His father, Isaiah Kofie, a Ghanaian immigrant, was stunned. “He never touched a piano before,” he told CBS News in a 2023 feature. “We never taught him. It just came from nowhere.”

Experts would later confirm that Jude has perfect pitch, a rare auditory phenomenon that allows him to identify and reproduce musical notes with remarkable accuracy. Coupled with his natural rhythm and emotional expression, he quickly became known as a prodigy.

Following his father’s discovery and CBS’s initial news story, Jude’s life changed almost overnight. He received invitations to perform on The Kelly Clarkson Show, booked national and international appearances as far as the UAE, and was gifted a $15,000 piano by local piano tuner Bill Magnusson. In addition to these rapid accolades, his videos became a viral sensation, garnering millions of views across social platforms as audiences were captivated by both the maturity of his playing and his infectious joy for music.

Though his fingers glide effortlessly across the keys, it’s not just technical ability that sets Jude apart. His interpretations of gospel hymns and jazz classics often leave audiences in tears. Whether performing in churches, at weddings, or in recitals, his music speaks a universal language.
