Musical Style: Jazz

Every performance by OUT OF THE BLUE is a unique experience, as their rotating cast of musicians brings fresh interpretations and dynamic energy to the stage. This ensures that each show is infused with new life and innovative twists, echoing the eclectic and adventurous spirit of Blue Note. The ensemble masterfully reshapes jazz traditions, blending them with modern influences to craft an unforgettable night of music.

First, this show features Blue Note classic material with selection from Art Blakey and a three-song set from Horace Silver’s ‘Blowin’ The Blues Away’.

Second, is original music inspired by people and places in Ian’s life, including ‘Forest,’ which was just played on KUVO. Three additional originals highlight the theme of Denver and its history in jazz. A tribute to a modern legend and a cover of ‘God Bless the Child’ as an arrangement done by Paul Quinchette, the kind-of-grandfather of great saxophonists from Denver.

A passionate performer known for his soulful and dynamic style, Ian Skaronea is fast becoming an artist to watch on the Denver jazz scene.
