Next Stage Arts and Twilight Music present an evening of contemporary folk music by Québec-based singer/songwriter Geneviève Racette and her trio and New England-based duo Hilary & G.
Geneviève Racette has captivated audiences with her ethereal vocals, vulnerable lyricism, and emotional depth since her debut in 2014. The internationally renowned Québécois folk-pop-americana artist crafts music that is both deeply personal and universally relatable, earning her a growing presence in both French and English-speaking music scenes.
Geneviève’s career trajectory took a major leap forward with her 2019 album "No Water, No Flowers," which earned her a Canadian Folk Music Award for Emerging Artist of the Year, a performance with City and Colour at Osheaga, and enthusiastic coverage from media outlets across Canada. In 2024, Geneviève released her most personal and powerful album yet "Golden" - a luminous and introspective record shaped by resilience and growth. Exploring themes of healing, resilience, and anger, the record includes her song "The Reasons (I’ll Be Alright)," which was featured on the hit show "Heartland."
Geneviève has headlined concerts across Canada and the US, and has showcased at prestigious events such as Folk Alliance International, AmericanaFest, Folk Music Ontario, NERFA, Canadian Music Week, and the Kerrville Folk Festival. As a woman navigating the music industry, Geneviève is committed to working with women-identifying professionals as she continues to build her career with authenticity, heart, and determination.
