Free Whenever’s music sits somewhere in between form (saguna) and formlessness (nirguna). The band’s guiding philosophy and approach to making music is rooted in the ancient practice of long-form improvisation. By submitting to the collective subconscious, raw feelings, sounds, and ideas emerge. This practice invites listeners to participate in the same state of mind at any time. It is universal psychedelic music.
Their self-recorded studio material is balanced and diverse. Hypnotic, conversational bass and guitar melodies float over a strong foundation of pulsating rhythms in a full synesthetic sound experience. Without allegiance to any one style they fuse vintage psychedelia, dub reggae, far eastern and African music, funk, soul, and more while their live shows blossom into areas that challenge the idea of what psychedelic music is.
Free Whenever is steadily making waves across the modern psychedelic music scene, sharing stages with artists like Karina Rykman, BALTHVS, TAUK, and Christian Kuria while bringing their dynamic live show to premier NYC venues such as Brooklyn Bowl and Sony Music Hall. The band has toured extensively throughout North America, performing from Miami to Vermont and across major cultural hubs including Chicago, Toronto, Montreal, Boston, and Washington D.C., building a dedicated following with their immersive, high-energy performances.
Their next album, Dissolve, is due out fall 2026!
West Hill Road is a genre-bending band based out of Connecticut. The band consists of a group of friends that began making short song snippets to post on social media. The snippets began to gain traction online, prompting the group to make the decision to finish & release the songs for the general public. The band officially formed at the beginning of 2024.
Many fans have described their shows as “lively, groovy, energetic and engaging.” Their set lists contain both smooth, melodic tunes like “Countdown” & “Don’t Leave” and upbeat, energetic records like “The Weekend” and “Waiting 4 Luv.”
