Dare to be Square West

All day dancing and workshops. Big evening dance with callers Sue Hulsether and Tony Mates, & bands Stumptown Stringband and Echo Mountain!

Dare To Be Square West is a weekend of square dance and music workshops, dancing, jamming, and fun with a mission to promote and preserve traditional square dancing. Dare to Be Square West events have flourished in communities such as Seattle, Los Angeles, Oakland, Vancouver, Port Townsend, and Boise. We are thrilled to be bringing Dare to Be Square back to the Bay Area for this first time in over a decade!

This event is for everyone! Callers, musicians, dancers, & community organizers should come out for this special weekend. At Dare to be Square West, get ready to:

• Work on your calling & learn new dances

• Learn about playing music for dances

• Meet friends in the west coast old time square dance community

• Enjoy hands-on opportunities to call & play music for dances

• Jam with friends

WEEKEND PASS - Join us for the whole weekend! This ticket type includes entry to all daytime workshops and evening dances on BOTH Saturday 11/8 and Sunday 11/9:  $150

SATURDAY DAY PASS - Join us for Saturday ONLY! This ticket type includes entry to daytime workshops and the evening dance for Saturday 11/8 ONLY: $90

SATURDAY DANCE - Join us for the evening dance on Saturday 11/8! $20 (Advance) / $25 (Day of Show) / $15 (Student - Day of Show only - be prepared to show student ID)

Ashkenaz is all ages, all the time. Kids and minors are always welcome. Those 12 or under are admitted FREE (unless otherwise noted).
