Checker Bloom is a four-piece band based in Bellingham, WA, crafting a sound they call Cinematic Western Rock. Their music is scorched with psychedelia, pop-rock, and tales of the apocalyptic. Their debut album, Ballads of Mirror Road, showcases a range from indie-disco to 80s blockbuster anthems. Honed through years on the road and sharing stages with prominent touring acts like Death Valley Girls, Wine Lips, and Petite Amie, Checker Bloom's live show scores films for the mind. While staying true to their rock roots, Checker Bloom is dipping their toes into new sounds inspired by yacht rock, vintage disco, and long days by the water with the people you love.

Jason Chang grew up performing with a reggae-rock band in Northern California before moving to Bellingham in 2019. J. Chang & the Lover Boys formed in Bellingham, Washington in 2024.
The group emerged after Jason connected with various musicians playing shows with a variety of bands around Bellingham and Skagit Valley.
Drawing inspiration from Sublime, Dispatch, The Eagles, The Expendables, Lake Street Dive, and Jack Johnson, the band crafts a distinctive sound that blends reggae rhythms with rock stylings. This musical foundation serves as the backdrop for lyrics which explore the millennial experience through a nihilistic lens on modern existence.
