Next Stage Arts and Twilight Music present contemporary folk singer-songwriters Antje Duvekot and Hayley Reardon.

Antje Duvekot is a German-born, American-raised singer-songwriter whose songs have been critically praised for their hard-won wisdom, dark-eyed realism, and street-smart romanticism. Her bicultural upbringing and relative newness to English have helped shape her unique way with a song, giving her a startlingly original poetic palette. These are the keys to the powerful, even revolutionary, empathy that informs everything she writes. She has won some of the top songwriting awards, including the Grand Prize in the John Lennon Songwriting Competition, the Kerrville Folk Festival’s Best New Folk Award, and the Boston Music Award for Outstanding Folk Act.

Since the release of her debut studio CD, Big Dream Boulevard—voted the No. 1 Folk Release of 2006 by The Boston Globe and named one of the Top 10 Releases of the Year by NPR’s Folk Alley—Antje has toured extensively, crisscrossing the U.S. and Europe. A compelling live performer, she has appeared at major festivals including Newport, Mountain Stage, Philadelphia, Falcon Ridge, Great Waters, and Kerrville in the U.S., as well as the Celtic Connections Festival in Scotland and Tønder Festival in Denmark.

Critically acclaimed folk-pop singer-songwriter Hayley Reardon’s songs serve as postcards from an artist brave enough to take the road less traveled. Hayley dove headfirst into music at age 15 and has dedicated much of her life to writing, recording, and performing around the world. Raised in a coastal Massachusetts town north of Boston, Reardon spent three years based in Nashville after high school, followed by six years carrying her songs and stories around the globe. In addition to her ongoing U.S. touring, Reardon has played nearly 300 shows across Europe. She has shared the stage with artists including Lori McKenna, Rodney Crowell, Anaïs Mitchell, Dar Williams, and Ed Sheeran. Her ever-deepening music carries a lyrical and melodic weight well beyond her years.
