Ali is a Jakarta-based three-piece musical project consisting of Arswandaru (bass/vocals), John Paul Patton (drums), and Absar Lebeh (guitar). The band creates a unique sound by blending Middle Eastern musical influences with 70s Indonesian psychedelic funk, cinematic soul, afrobeat, and disco. Their lyrics are written in Arabic, reflecting the band’s cultural heritage and the historical influence of Middle Eastern art on Indonesian culture.
