This event is All Ages

ACTORS began by releasing a string of popular singles, starting with “Post Traumatic Love” in 2012 and building a dedicated fanbase while eschewing a debut album release for the band’s first six years of existence. In 2018, the Jason Corbett-led foursome signed with Toronto-based Artoffact Recordsand released its long-awaited debut, It Will Come to You, quickly becoming one of the marquee acts on the label and following with their sophomore release 'Acts of Worship' in 2021. In Late 2020, ACTORS announced a new single, “Love U More,” with Juno-Award winning director Peter Ricqcontributing his talents to the accompanying video.

Songs like “L’appel du Vide,” “Slaves,” “Face Meets Glass,” and “Bury Me” are bangers that glisten via Corbett’s production job: infectious beats propelled by the warm layers of synth, bass, and drums contributed by the rest of the band. Corbett writes, produces, mixes, and masters all ACTORS music at his own Vancouver studio, Jacknife Sound and names David Bowie as a fundamental influence – Bowie’s sense of confidence and creativity are in full effect on It Will Come to You. Much more than a retro act, this is music that stands all on its own, full of life and complete with unforgettable hooks. Perhaps best described as a “post-post-punk” band, ACTORS belongs in the mix alongside bands like The Soft Moon and Cold Cave

ACTORS have spent the last several years touring the USA, Canada, and Europe, while hitting many of the best-loved festivals, including AmphifestWave-Gotik-TreffenCold WavesSubstanceDeath DiscoVerboden and many more.”

SOFT VEIN was formed in 2022, debuting with a pair of singles, ‘GIVEUPTHEGHOST’ and ‘VIOLENTIA’, garnering a cult following in the Los Angeles darkwave scene and that would continue to grow. In late 2023, SOFT VEIN signed to Artoffact Records and released his debut album, ‘PRESSED IN GLASS,’ Praised for its unique sound, alt press outlet POST-PUNK.COM said the record  “...paints a vivid picture of desperation and lust in the dark, but with a strangely romantic bend.”

After performing tour dates across the US and Europe, including headline shows, festivals and notable support slots, SOFT VEINreturned to the studio to record his sophomore album ‘THROUGH BLINDS,’ released in January 2025. Inspired this time by a sense of loneliness, and by his observations on his own life, and the experiences of others, the record sees Chamberlain expanding and evolving upon his unique brand of darkly romantic, industrial-tinged electronic music from a new perspective - creating a unique blend of “nostalgic futurism” and eschewing the icy cold landscape and aesthetics of the first album in favor of heat, desire and fantasy.

LEATHERS Inside a neon-lit dreamscape, LEATHERS (aka Shannon Hemmett; Canadian musician, visual artist, and keyboardist of acclaimed Vancouver post punk band ACTORS) crafts songs with razor sharp style and substance.

Although Hemmett was musical from an early age, she came to singing later in life after a career in the graphic arts. Her songs, mingled with her love of photography, the films of David Lynch, and the writings of J.G. Ballard; explore the disquieting uncertainty of modern life and the liminal spaces where our emotions reside. After teasing audiences with a trio of stylish singles, Hemmett signed a worldwide album deal with Toronto-based Artoffact Records. Her
Reckless EP compiling these tracks, amassed a loyal cult following and became the top-selling EP of the label’s 20+ year history. This summer, the eagerly awaited debut album Ultraviolet promises to launch LEATHERS to the forefront of smart, exciting, electro-pop. Aglow with glossy synths, and nocturnal atmosphere, Hemmett’s sublime voice comes into focus—searching for the truth between fantasy and reality.

Ultraviolet is available for pre-order May 3rd on Bandcamp Friday and out everywhere August 16th, 2024 on Artoffact Records. See LEATHERS live at Cruel World Festival 2024 in Pasadena, CA on May 11th.
