The third installment of 8 Ball Radio's live series at The Kite, featuring three emerging acts from different corners of NYC's underground music communities. 8 Ball Radio is a volunteer-run, public-access online radio station based in Chinatown. Focused on community-oriented programming, the station places an emphasis on freedom and collaboration without hierarchical structures. It serves as a part of 8 Ball Community, a nonprofit collective that also engages in other cultural projects.
Moderate Rock is an experimental-pop / post-post-punk / post-garage / avant-garde / shoegazi / neoclassical / ambient / world-fusion / webcore / rockn'roll music collective of Gen-Z artists from NYC. They spend their time organizing street shows, multi-media jams, recording in basements, and cultivating their religious community. Beck Zegans (Goo) plays dark psychedelic folk and also sometimes rock music. Originally from New Hampshire, Beck came to NYC in 2019 to focus on writing and performing with her band Goo. She works as an audio engineer and freelance touring musician. Post-Trash calls her songs “undeniably beautiful, [with] the ability to shake you to the core in composition alone.”
Mad writes, runs, works for a park, and sings in the bands Me at night and Anna Worm. She hosts the show Mad's Living Room on 8 Ball Radio every other Saturday at 6pm.
