The magic of The High Desert Rangers is their incredible musicianship plus vocal harmonies coming together in one of the most upbeat cheerful sounds to get your toes tapping and derriere up out of the chair. High dessert rangers is comprised of four incredible players - Jon' Graboff on guitar, Ben Perea on Banjo, Zeke Severson on bass and David Thom on mandolin - with vocal harmonies that add up to get your toes tapping and derriere up out of the chair.
Jon’ Graboff’s first professional gig was playing in a bluegrass band. After many twists and turns, working with a variety of performers like Iris Dement, Phil Lesh, Ryan Adams and Cyndi Lauper, he’s making a full circle to his early roots.
Ben Perea was a 5-times-in-a-row New Mexico state banjo champion. So they made him a judge! Ben is a musician extraordinaire. Whether he’s playing banjo or guitar, Ben never misses a beat. He started playing banjo at 16 and started gigging before he was old enough to be in establishments requiring IDs!
Zeke Severson has been in New Mexico for 30+ years, and is a member of the band South by Southwest, which has been in existence since before it was a festival!
David Thom has been playing bluegrass since 1994, and has worked with the likes of Peter Rowan, David Grisman, Laurie Lewis and Don Rigsby, to name a few.
