Musical Style: Jazz

Desert Island Discs: Nancy Wilson/Cannonball Adderley & Bill Evans

With Tatiana LadyMay Mayfield

We’ve all thought about the music we’d want if we were stranded on a deserted island—the albums we couldn’t live without. One that always makes our list is the 1962 recording Nancy Wilson/Cannonball Adderley, a collaboration that remains one of the great vocal-instrumental pairings in jazz.

Now, the CJRO revisits this timeless album with vocalist Tatiana LadyMay Mayfield. Her smooth style and deep connection to the material bring a fresh perspective to songs that have stood the test of time. Tatiana is joined by Gabriel Mervine (Trumpet), Drew Zaremba (Saxophone), Eric Gunnison (Piano), Eric Hitt (Bass), and Mike Marlier (Drums).

Give a listen to this recording with Nancy Wilson featuring Adderley on Sax and enjoy it again CJRO style, when you attend this concert! Save Your Love for Me
